The McCoy was built through an amazing combination of vision, collaboration, and philanthropy. As a self-sustaining 501(c)3 organization, we rely on the generous donations of our patrons and friends to support educational, inspirational, entertaining programs, and our world-class performing arts venue. There are many ways to support The McCoy including:
McCoy Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is a recurring source of unrestricted income to help with the operations and current priorities at The McCoy. Each year, your generous donation will provide necessary revenue to support enriching programs and artistic excellence in our world-class performing arts center.
The Annual Fund helps:
~Keep ticket prices low and make programs accessible
~Creates opportunities for enriching programming
~Encourages education outreach for all ages
~Reaches out to future generations to instill an appreciation for the arts and to encourage a love of the arts
~Enhances the New Albany community and contributes to a higher quality of life
The 2020 McCoy Gala Celebration will be a pre-concert VIP Party on Saturday, February 8, 2020 for the Mandy Patinkin concert, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres! All proceeds will benefit the operations and programming for the McCoy Center for the Arts.
The best way to secure your seat to see Mandy Patinkin in concert and the VIP Party is to become a sponsor. Click here to become a sponsor.
Several packages are available to promote your business, reach a highly targeted market, and align your brand with the premier new performing arts center in central Ohio. One of the many benefits of partnering with The McCoy is that our sponsors are recognized repeatedly throughout the season; not just a one time event! For additional information on corporate sponsorship and to create a package customized to your business needs, please contact us at 614.719.6614.
NAMED THEATRE SEATS
Since the grand opening in 2008, many families and companies have chosen to name seats in The McCoy's Schottenstein Theatre. This is a great way to show your support of the arts, recognize a special occasion or accomplishment, or remember a loved one.
Donations are permanently recognized on an engraved plaque on each designated seat. The cost for a named theatre seat is:
$1000 Orchestra Level
$500 Balcony Level
Limited availability. This program will only remain available until all seats within the Theatre are named.
Planned Gifts & Bequests
The Jeanne B. McCoy Center for the Arts was named to honor and celebrate the life of a community arts patron. In the footsteps of the McCoy family, please consider a legacy gift to The McCoy. Bequests, gifts of insurance and retirement funds, and gifts that provide lifetime income can provide significant future resources to The McCoy while providing you with income, tax, and personal benefits. Please contact us at 614.719.6614 for additional information.
GIFTS OF APPRECIATED SECURITIES
The McCoy welcomes gifts of stocks, bonds, and shares of mutual funds. By donating appreciated stocks directly to The McCoy, you can likely avoid capital gains taxes and help support the local arts. Your donation value will be reflected as the full air-market on the date the stock is liquidated by The McCoy, which is typically within 3 business days. Please contact us at 614.719.6614 for additional information.
Many corporations have giving programs to match your donations to qualified nonprofits. This is a wonderful way to double the impact of your gift! Please check with your Human Resources office to see if your company offers a matching gift program.
We would be happy to talk with you about a gift-in-kind, including products and services.
Endowment & CAPITAL GIFTS
The McCoy Center for the Arts has several designated funds that are managed by the New Albany Community Foundation and the Columbus Foundation. The corpus of the funds are invested to ensure the long term financial stability of The McCoy. A portion of the annual dividends from the funds is used to help support programming activities at The McCoy. Many donors have contributed to the Arts and Sciences Endowment to help build this fund and make a difference in the community. Additionally, several additional donors have established individual funds to provide on-going support for specific programs within the arts and presented at The McCoy.
If you would like to learn more about the endowment and explore opportunities to support The McCoy, please contact us at 614.719.6614.
The mission of The McCoy Center for the Arts is to inspire and enrich the lives of the residents of New Albany and the surrounding communities in central Ohio, and foster an appreciation of the arts and culture by providing life-long learning opportunities through education, exposure and participation.
